Wiring Information

The up-lighting and interior lighting use the same 4 - 25W candelabra bulbs and are on a separate circuit from the bottom light kit. To control the up/inside lights and optional light kit separately, you will need three circuits instead of the normal two running to the fan or you can wire the up and down lights together to work simultaneously with just one lighting circuit. The final option is adding our remote package, which allows separate control of the up, down and fan with just one circuit; perfect for remodels or ceiling light conversions where there is just one switch.

Note:

The glass bowl style fixtures, such as the LK550, do not work well with pull chains since the chain has to run through the glass. Although some models have holes drilled for this purpose, we find that the chain usually binds, is hard to pull, and will eventually break. That is why we recommend using a wall speed control to eliminate this problem. Simply pull the fan speed control until it is on high, then cut off the chain so it does not rattle on the glass. The light kit one will continue to work fine on all models, though a wall light switch or dimmer is much more convenient, and is recommended. Remote controls are another option to gain control of both up and down lighting and fan speed without using the pull chains.
