Rustic ceiling hugger fans are the best way to add a fan and possibly light kit to a room with standard 8' ceilings. Even with 9' ceiling, they are often less obtrusive than a regular fan, espeically with an added light kit. Ceiling hugers tend to be 3" shorter than the normal down rod style fan and have a lower profile look. Most perform just as well as regular fans and have the added benefit of elminated balancing issues due to the direct-to-ceiling mounting. Almost all of our rustic ceiling huggers use a high quality 172mm motor vesus the standard 152mm size. This larger motor increases airflow and runs quieter due to less strain on the motor.
